Imperfect people finding their perfect match.

Jen Devon writes sexy, cinematic contemporary romances with dynamic leads, lively supporting casts, and a lush sense of place; all with a guaranteed Happily Ever After.

She picked up her first historical romance as a preteen in the mid-90’s, and soon she was spending hours in her small Ohio hometown’s public library, checking out stacks of paperbacks as big as she could balance between her chin and her hands. Today, she writes contemporaries, but the atmosphere and angst of those old historicals still influence the substance and style of her work today.

Jen’s debut novel BEND TOWARD THE SUN was published by St. Martin’s Press in 2022, and it has been translated into both Danish and Polish. Her 2024 sophomore novel, RIGHT WHERE WE LEFT US continues with another story about the irresistible Brady family. While interconnected, both books can be read as standalones.

Right Where We Left Us by Jen Devon is a contemporary romance book. It has a cover with varying shades of purple, with stylized fireflies and rolling hills in the background. There is an illustrated grapevine in the upper right corner, above the title of the book. A quote from author Camille Pagan reads, "Jen Devon knows her way around the human heart." In the bottom right is an illustrated man and woman in a tender pose. He has his thumb on her chin, and she smiles up at him. She's petite and blond, and he's large, dark, and bearded.

Temperance Jean Madigan and Duncan Brady have never gotten it right. After one radiant, secret summer together when they were eighteen, they’ve been on-again off-again ever since. Now, despite red-hot chemistry and TJ’s closeness with Duncan’s family, they’re virtually strangers, only capable of adversarial banter, awkward small talk—and the occasional messy hookup. When forced proximity begins to chip away at their armor, buried tensions resurface, old wounds urge confrontation, and once-in-a-lifetime love demands one last chance to finally get it right.

Guarded, self-reliant botanist Rowan McKinnon doesn’t believe in love. With her new PhD, two steadfast best friends, and the occasional no-strings sex, she’s convinced she has everything she needs. When an academic setback throws her off course, she takes on the restoration of an overgrown vineyard to re-center herself and her career.

Dr. Harrison Brady is in an emotional freefall. Since losing a patient, he no longer believes he can keep people safe. Hoping rural sunshine and the hard labor of renovation work will help him heal, Harry heads home to Pennsylvania, where his family has just bought a long-abandoned vineyard.

The last thing Rowan and Harry expect is each other. Despite deeply different views on life and love, their chemistry is explosive, their connection magnetic. Even though their time at the vineyard is only temporary, Harry is compelled to explore the undeniable pull between them. Rowan is committed to protecting her heart at all costs. But some things are too powerful–and too right–to be ignored.
